This activity is intended for healthcare professionals practicing in
managed care environments.

Description:
As our population ages and the burden of caring for older adults
increases, the search for improved diagnosis and novel
radiopharmaceuticals for cancer, dementia, movement disorders,
epilepsy, heart disease has become a top priority facing all
healthcare professionals. Radiopharmaceuticals are a growing group
of radioactive drugs used for diagnostic and therapeutic
interventions. Advances in diagnostic imaging have the potential to
personalize care. These disease-specific or target-specific imaging
agents help clinicians determine the most appropriate course of
treatment and management, namely precision medicine. This live
webinar series will take a close look at these new options and best
practices in diagnostic imaging, radiopharmaceuticals, and
radioactive tracers for managed care professionals.
Upon completion of this
activity, participants will be able to:
-
Examine the components and principles of the various imaging
modalities used in radiology and nuclear medicine
-
Explore the evolving diagnostic applications of radioactive
tracers in cancer, cardiology, and neurology
-
Assess the role of molecular imaging and radiopharmaceuticals
among the management armamentarium in patients with prostate
cancer
-
Describing the significance of F-18 labeled tracers and what
they offer over SPECT imaging and other PET MPI tracers in the
patients at risk for coronary artery disease (CAD)
-
Evaluate the evolving role of molecular imaging in the diagnosis
of early Alzheimer's disease to facilitate treatment with novel
options
-
Characterize pressures that impact patient and provider access
to molecular imaging in managed care settings
