The world of immunizations in adolescents and adults has changed dramatically over the past 10 years. And now that is even more true with the COVID-19 pandemic of the last few years. From newer vaccines to changing guidelines, the landscape has changed for payers, providers and patients. This activity will take a close look at those changes on immunizations in adolescents and adults, and the affect that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on these immunizations. Participants will be updated on the latest data and guidelines to help increase rates, costs and patient outcomes.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the socioeconomic and public health consequences of vaccine hesitancy and interrupted or delayed routine immunizations due to COVID-19

  • Explore updated 2022 ACIP recommendations for HPV vaccination across patient populations

  • Examine the classification of pneumococcal vaccines, their clinical evidence, and ACIP recommendations for both normal and at-risk populations

  • Discuss optimal vaccine messaging to overcome barriers, such as vaccine misinformation and safety concerns, to successfully provide guideline recommended vaccination to all adolescent and adult patients

  • Implement evidence-based and cost-effective managed care policies to enhance the rate of vaccine administration, uptake, and compliance
