Description
Research suggests that Parkinson's Disease (PD) affects at least
500,000 people in the United States, and some estimates are much
higher. The total cost to the nation is estimated to exceed $6
billion annually. The financial and public health impact of this
disease is expected to increase as the population ages.

Neurology's Treatment Guidelines for Parkinson's disease

Compare and contrast the efficacy
and safety of dopamine agonists, levodopa and monamine oxidase
inhibitors Describe current neuroprotection strategies and
recent trials

Describe the impact of combination
therapies on patients' "OFF" (immobile) time

Recognize what patients are
candidates for surgical management of advanced PD
